Don't worry, that's not all that bad in stock form. I know this guy at a local shop that is pulling 15.2's in a B16 with Type-r intake manifold, NOS, wires, and the like. I don't know what he's doing wrong, but he thinks it's awesome. Any opinions will help me bash him a little more. He was doing 16.4's in the ZC and 17's in stock form. He either doesn't know how to drive...or he's an idiot.

Thats not bad!I guess your other runs where 16's? Hey my best was only a 16.5 with my ZC! I am kinda thinkin my car might be a bloated pig though... Since I still have the A/C, power steering, Auto coolers on the radiator when my car was auto. So When you think about it my car might weigh as much as an Si version!

well i think i found out some of the reason besides my .87 reaction time, i need a new valve cover gasket, because my 3rd cylinder spark plug is covered in oil, so i was pretty much runnng on 3 cylinders, plus a good tune up will help smile not that any of you care...:P

Damn my civic runs 14.7's all day long and i dont have a decent pair of tires....And that is with a stock b16a with a iceman intake....I think if i throw on some slicks i will be in the low 14's maybe 13's who knows...I think you about right there with the right time...You should be in the low 15's no problem..

Wow! You launched that high! I only launched at about 2,500-3,000 and I was screeching like mad! Though maybe I was bogging to! Thats interesting though!

Sheesh... I got a 15.3 best time with the SiR, reaction time of 1.3. You guys are doing really well.

I really don't think the B16A is right for dragging - too high a powerband where you guys have good lowdown torque. Still, on the track I ran 1.3 seconds slower than a JDM Type R 'teg with suspension mods - remembering he had a LSD standard and I don't, that's pretty cool - we actually supersprinted against each other and it was so damn close... but no way I had enough power to get around him.

I'm running AC and power steering standard, plus a factory sunroof which leads to drivetrain loss and increased weight. Also - I have the original B16A - 160 bhp. Honda's figures state that the SiR is capable of a 15.2 sec 1/4 mile pass - that's the best they got out of it so I'm ballpark with my runs. The car is set for track, not drags - other than that, I can't offer an opinion as to why you are faster - although I don't run a CAI or extractors or cams or non-standard ECU. Standard 2 1/4 inch SiR exhaust and a catalytic convertor. Interesting that the USDM Si doesn't seem to break into the 14s until it has had some work done to it - and they are only 100 kilos or more heavier than the SiR.

    Cheers
